Introducing Butterfly Shrugs and Float Coats
Introducing two new collections from Raiment --for the fancy in You! Special event items for those Diva dates - no two are alike. Created in gorgeous chiffons, silks, and lightweight knits, each is hand stitched and lovingly embellished. In the photos below, I first show a cut velvet with matching (and optional) scarf, luscious in the early fall and late winter. Spring and summer selections are shown on the following collage-style presentations.
These styles were first shown at The Designers Uptown Market at Lafayette Village in Raleigh on May 25th, 2013.
Gilded Pallete Gallery allowed me to "pop up" at the June 2nd Friday Art Event in Wake Forest. At least one Saturday a month through November, I will have these, as well as my children's and accessory lines on display for sale or for custom orders at The Durham Craft Market in the park at Foster Street across from The Durham Farmers's Market. Other locations to be announced.
PURCHASE A PRE-MADE ITEM NOW AT $70-$90, OR I CAN CREATE A PIECE SIZED AND STYLED JUST FOR YOU! CALL ME AT 919-412-6824 for an appointment.

Sheeeeeeeeeees Back...
Wow, has it really been 2009 since I have updated this blog! Amazing. Sew it goes....
I've finally put some of the photos together of a few things I have worked on, at least during the last year. Not sure what happed in 2010 and 2011 (except for the large costume drama in November of 2010 that occupied me from about September forward. Oh, and the wedding in May of 2010 consumed most of the spring, doing Noel's dress and my "Little Number." And, 2011, - well, when it comes back to me, I'll squeeze it in.
This year I have so enjoyed all the different apparel and accessory items made from original designs, some done by upstyling which is probably my favorite thing to do. Some of these started in mid-2011 actually with the woven & beaded bracelets and the leather cuffs, then spilled over into the early Spring with my line of berets and fingerless gloves, as well as a "Spiffy Duds" for baby and toddlers.

Raiment for THE MAN launched!

Click on image for large view. Use return arrow to go back to blog.
I am considering exhibiting at the 11/29/09
Designer's Downtown Market in Raleigh,
and am looking for permanent space for collection.
Photographs used in designs are by my son, Chris. Of course, transfers don't give the photo full justice. Some photographs have been elaborated with fabric paint. (Chris gave me permission to play with this.)
There is other work not yet photographed for publication, including some "manly" scarves trimmed with a variety of found items.
Your feedback is welcome.

Raiment for Men
If you are in the Raleigh, North Carolina area, look for my man clothes at The Falls River Arts Festival October 3. This is my way of "kicking up" some classics for men that will give those who want to be a little more edgy or artsy in their classics, an alternative to simply choosing a jazzier tie. I will post some photos soon of "Raiment for Men." [Yeah, I know, despite my husband and son being exhibited photographers, my blog is sorely lacking in the thousand words you would rather see in a few great shots.]
Why "Raiment?" you wonder...A few years ago, I launched what I call "Raiment--for the Fancy in You!" which featured a line of beaded long and skinny scarves, of various luxurious fabrics, and for each season. Each of the over 200 pieces was it's own personality and these did rather well in certain places. In fact, I still have some, but sadly the market is pretty swamped with scarves leaving mine to be offered at sale prices when I am in the mood.
